SEUN'S VIDEO REVIEW: LAMIDE'S ENI DURO DIRECTED BY DJ TEE

 ARTISTE: OLAMIDE

As one of Nigeria's premium music video directors; DJ TEE has continued to bring some of our favorite songs to visual fruition. He (DJ TEE) has been doing this a far into the days of the Nigerian music boom as the origin of the then critically acclaimed but now unsung Music Africa (kai, I hope thats not a #GBAGAUN heheh). However, of a lot of the Naija hit tunes that I have seen DJ TEE bring to life, Lamide's ENI DURO tickles a specific part of ma medulla (Oh thank god this is a blog and I can write the way I feel).

VIDEO DIRECTOR: DJ TEE.

First of all, it's hats off to the artiste in question. It is the quality of material presented in Lamide's Lyrical ingenuity that provided DJ TEE with enough creative material to work with. This video is a break away from the from the overtly forced and pretentious "swagger" that characterizes your average Naija Video. DJ TEE sets all the events on the streets of what seems to be Bariga (Lagos Nigeria) and not one of those badly lit clubs that we are used to. The most interesting thing that this video has to offer the visual mode of telling. DJ TEE continually reels out a constant stream of physical interpretations of Lamide's lyrics and he tops this up with seamless transitions from scene to scene....AAAAAH. Ok let me just give my verdict and stop blabbing before I confuse  you with too much OYINBO!!

VERDICT (of a possible score of ten)>>
CONCEPT: 7.8
CINEMATOGRAPHY: 8.0
EDITING: 8.5
SCENE STAGING: 9.0
